IEIS Graduate School Doctoral Scholarship: Aroua Znazen awarded

From the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Graduate School @iaelyon « International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society (IEIS) is delighted to welcome Aroua Znazen, a student with a passion for social entrepreneurship and Twice Laureate of the Graduate School grant.

Who is Aroua Znazen?

After four years studying management and strategy at IHEC Carthage, Aroua won the first scholarship for excellence from the “International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society” (IEIS) Graduate School, which she joined at the start of the 2023-2024 academic year in iaelyon's Master 2 Etudes et Recherche en Management program. She has had the opportunity to follow the “Honors IEIS” program, which has offered her the chance to join the CREATE entrepreneurship research team and the Magellan Laboratory.

In addition to her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Aroua spent two years with Enactus IHEC Carthage, supporting entrepreneurial projects with a societal impact, and one year with HECMUN - IHEC Model of the United Nations, training young Tunisians in key skills to make them more active on the diplomatic and political scene.

In June 2024, following a particularly successful year and the defense of her dissertation, Aroua also spoke at the “Entrepreneuriat et impact : regards de chercheurs” research seminar organized by the IEIS Graduate school and the CREATE team.

In July 2024, in competition with over forty other applicants, Aroua was awarded the IEIS 2024 doctoral contract, confirming her integration into the Magellan laboratory's entrepreneurship research team. Her thesis focuses on the role of different types of impact investment in the sustainability of social entrepreneurship projects.

Context of the thesis

The thesis is part of the Graduate School « International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society » (IEIS), winning project of the ANR / SFRI - Graduate School call for projects.

The 'International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society' (IEIS) Graduate School focuses on entrepreneurship and its ability to transform society, a key theme for the University and iaelyon School of Management. It offers a specific course to a class of excellence from MBA to doctoral level, further strengthening the links between bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, doctorates and research teams, in order to create a genuine synergy for excellence and the common good.

The Graduate IEIS aims to train researchers in entrepreneurship with an innovative, international project with a societal impact (climate, health, biodiversity, greencity, smartcity, etc.).
The students involved have the opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial skills that are essential to lead innovative and societal projects. At the same time, high-level researchers with the ability to federate and act in complex and international situations to develop ambitious entrepreneurial projects have the opportunity to grow.

Students in the final year of their Master's and PhD students have access to specific support from experienced researchers and mentors, both from the academic world and the socio-economic sphere. Discussion sessions between undergraduate and graduate students are organised to stimulate collaboration on projects.
